The Ross family have been farmers in Victoria’s western district since they first came to Australia as Irish settlers in the late 1800’s. Family descendant, Ian Ross, is an award winning Hereford stud breeder and a lover of shiraz wine after a hard day on the land; HEREFORD Shiraz was born.
Grapes are from vineyard sites on a strip of Heathcote’s famous brick-red, Cambrian rock soils of the Mount Camel Range.
The wine style is–purposely and consistently–intensely fruit driven; a rich and juicy shiraz to go with the savoury juiciness of BBQ’d steak.
